If you ever wanted to hear this track in high quality, this is Budzi's Theme from LocoRoco: https://youtu.be/GipVW6DmTlk

The game could not stop crashing when I tried to make progress, also too bad that it never saved when I reopened the game.

The balancing is terrible: enemies with Electric weapons will one-shot you in the later levels when you're still playing as the Tortoise (even if you upgraded its health to max), and if you manage to get Smooch before Pinky, rest of the levels until level 22 can only have you tank TWO HITS. It also doesn't help that the enemies can also tank up a few hits from your weapons in the later levels, except, they take more than two hits which is definitely fair.

Perhaps the game was better back then, some emulators can screw up the code you know? Maybe? But I'm not sure why it's a theme with most Smokoko games, anyway, I did not enjoy it as much as I wanted to.

This game's Vexation can take a deep breath and blow me.

Otherwise, good game.

One of my favourite Bubble Tanks games in the series; BTA is a great spin-off which puts you in a limit of twenty five levels with various amount of arenas filled with many enemy tanks, so unlike other Bubble Tanks games in the series, this game's progression is actually linear.

And regarding the issue of the game soft locking if you try to make a new Save File or Tank/Enemy Editor, can be resolved if you press the 'Tab' key until the 'Allow' option is highlited in yellow (you'll have to press 'Tab' until it selects it), then just press 'Enter' key and this pop up won't ever appear. And if does appear, just repeat the process.

The Tank Editor, Enemy Tank Editor, and the Arena Editor are welcome additions to the game, and are my favourite aspect of the game. You can finally build your own tank from scratch and give it a wacky yet cool design with the bubbles and cannons you can use at your disposal, but both Tank and Enemy Tank Editors are limited at the start, so through progressing the game you can increase the Bubble Points/Gun Points/Class Size limit and unlock new parts for either your or enemy tank each level you complete.

The art style is simple, yet charming: the soft red background is pleasant to the eye, the red and yellow bubbles go well together like ketchup and mustard, and the UI is basic but easy to navigate.

With only two soundtracks in the game, they still provide that nostalgic feel to it, the peaceful a e s t h e t i c which isn't ruined by the constant firing of the cannons or collecting blue bubbles (well maybe except for the Leech Cannon when hitting an enemy hence the blue bubbles do make a loud noise).

The sound design in this game, while mainly comprised of bubble popping, with an exception to getting hit or collecting blue bubbles which are represented by the piano hitting a low and high note respectively: is great. And I find the piano notes signalising either getting hurt or healed to be genius.

The balancing in this game is fair at the start; not much threats that spawn or cause you trouble, weapons have solid stats and the Bubble/Gun Point limit in the editor is fair. Later on you'd unlock some busted weapons and secondaries which basically turn the tides of the game's diffuculty and scale it down to bare minium:

- The Shield is a must need for all bulky, sluggish tanks that struggle tanking all of the incoming fire, preveting major damage to be taken if timed correctly. It has a fairly quick recharge without any other secondaries equipped and its cost is very cheap at two Bubble Points and Gun Points. Do I have to mention that you get early on as well?
- The Leech Cannon can be summed up as: "I cannot die if I just keep firing at you!" cannon. For just four Gun Points, and only two Bubble Points, you can equip this cannon and not worry about getting hit hence it replenishes your health as fast as the cannon can fire and hit an enemy tank.
- While the Exploding Pierce Cannon is the most expensive primary weapon in the game- sitting at five Gun Points and three Bubble Points -it is the best option for any small tank in the endgame: It domintates the groups of enemy tanks and shreads through factories and behemoth-sized tanks.

The difficulty in Bubble Tanks Arenas depends on your playstyle: If you're playing as a small, swift tank, then the game is fairly easy as you can dodge enemy bullets and slide through bullet openings. Cannons with spread might give you a much harder time to dodge as if you're strafing around the arena, there might be a chance that you will get hit. If you're playing as a large, slow moving tank, then you might have a bit of a problem with tanking most hits if you're not using something as a shield. Overall: any playstyle shall carry you far into the game, but there will be a chance that you will be stopped at a certain stage of the game, and will either need to upgrade your tank, make a brand new tank, or switch your current playstyle.

In conclusion, Bubble Tanks Arena does a great job at being its own game, with amazing new features introduced into the game and brand new weapons and tank designs that are cool to look at. I give it a solid five stars. :)

Back in 2014, when I was little and was blissfully unaware of the world around me, watching Youtube and playing Flash Games on my grandparent's old computer.. I came across this gem of a game on Cda games, and instantly fell in love with it!

Scrap Metal Heroes is a game which combines four of my favourite elements found in games which are: Heavy customization with loads of parts and items to choose from, character/unit progression through buying parts and upgrading, said characters/units battling other characters/units, and most importantly: robots!

The art style in this game is beautiful; the 3D parts look very detailed and each head part has its own personality, even if some lack a mouth. In battle, each robot looks well animated when walking or performing an attack, bigger badder robots look badass when entering into a group of other smaller/weaker robots. While the 2D character icons look gorgeously drawn; each character is unique with their own little description which highlight what type of personality they have, even their robot unit names and designs also reflect on it.

Despite having only two tracks for the game, I still enjoy listening to both of them respectively; while building my robots, and while fighting enemy robots.

What I apprectiate about this game- unlike any other games -is how it handles item/part prices: they retain the same cost after being bought; meaning you can sell them at the same price you bought them. Sure; it may be a way to cheese certain, more costly/powerful parts that you get later on the game. But it is still better than to accidentally sell everything and having to grind previous levels (or challnagers in the league) again just to re-obtain the stuff you lost.

Fun fact: To acquire each and every single part in the game (including starter parts, but excluding specials which don't appear in this version of the game), you need to spend exactly $3,325,300 dollars in order to obtain everything from the League Market (for comparison: the lowest part costs $500, while the highest costs $220,000).

The balancing in this game varies; early game can be piss easy when you get yourself part like 'Jarhead' for each of your unit until you start to get better heads, or midway through the game when you get 'Laser Sights' for your gunner units and can practically carry them up to the endgame. In summary: some parts and their stats make no sense, the best parts often cost cheap and/or have the best abilities (like Armor/Block, Combat Specs, Focus Fire, and Armor Pirecing just to name a few).

The difficulty really just depends on what kind of parts you bought and choose to pick for your units, but sometimes you might be stopped by some powerful enemy units which require a specific weapon in order to counter them (like the EMP Rocket Launches against the Shield bot which appears in few main missions). Like I said: it all comes down to what parts you purchase and own.

In conclusion, I greatly enjoyed this game: it offers the player with loads of content; large amount of parts and items that provide a whole wide range of possibilities which opens up to many stragedies, which incentives replayability. And once you get everything, you can basically turn it into a robot dress up game, if you really are into that kind of stuff.

I would highly recommend the game, it is one of those classics which absolutely deserves more attention than it gets, five stars. :)

Aside from crashing once and reseting all of my data when trying to restart a level, the strange hitbox dectetion causing the car to either take damage or not take said damage when landing or bumping into an obstacle, multiple bugs like that one time one of the cars bumped into me and send me flying.

This game is decent at best but mediocre at worst in terms of gameplay, that being said, it had nice visuals (but what's with the newspapers in some areas and that one employer's laptop in 'Office Again' area showing a woman topless? isn't this game rated E for everyone?) and I found the artsyle to be quite charming.

The main problem with the gameplay is in order to earn all 3 stars on each level, you simply have to speedrun said levels. The amount of health your car has or the amount of points you scored is not necessary in acquiring 3 stars on all of the levels, I learned that on my second playthrough of the game.

The last three races where actually the best levels of the entire game, they were quite challenging but not too unfair aside from some terrains towards the finish (especially on the first cup, that top shortcut has got to be one of the worst shortcuts since it completely stops you in your tracks and allows other cars to take the win).

Update: To get the achievement 'Racing Reverse', you are required to win a race while performing a back wheelie, the wings that appear on your front wheels are the indicator that you're doing it sucessfully, and if you happen to lose balance and touch the ground with your front wheel then you lose the wings and have to restart the level again.

Speaking of driving; the controls aren't bad, it's just the pick up pace is quite slow when you come to a sudden stop and want to start moving again. The Turbo boost (from my experience) gives you a minor boost while on ground, while above ground it sort of acts like a weak glider you get so often by balancing left and right.

The sound effects weren't all that bad; who wouldn't like to imitate car noises when bored at work? but I do know it might be annoying to some, so it gets a pass for me.

The music is decent despite it being a one track, even if it does not match the feel of racing against the clock or other cars to the slightest, said 'racing' music being reused for the menu screen but slowed down takes away a point for creativity. However, being it an acappela track, reminded me of Crash Bandicoot: Twinsanity soundtrack which I'll give the point back (especially that it somewhat goes well with the game's sound design which is mostly comprised of noises made with a mouth).

In conclusion, I did not enjoy this game as much as I were expecting to be but still had some motivation to go through all of it.
Looking forward to reviewing the sequel since I know it improved on many issues the first game had, and even expanded on it in some areas, so I'm definitely in for a treat the next time I'll decide to play it again after many years. :)

That is a one sturdy ass tortoise, taking a beating out of everything, even mulitple nukes!

But everyone knows that the true villain in these kind of games are no other than spikes, even worse, spikes suspended from balloons!

I greatly enjoyed this little game, despite some grinding to get 1000 Soldier kills via custom game, it did not stop me to fully complete this wonderful classic shooter in just about a few hours.

Here, have my five stars. :)

Will be working on personal projects now, at my own pace, with more or less for what is planned to be uploaded: I'll make as much as I can before the start of next year's course.
